Overview The HR Generalist will manage all human resources–related functions for the Prince George manufacturing location. A fast‑paced, self‑starter with a positive attitude is paramount to success. The role is a true “generalist,” with responsibilities ranging from benefit administration to termination processing. This position offers the opportunity to help develop talent, work closely with leadership, and contribute to Nucor’s ongoing success.
Responsibilities
Location administrator for EAP, HRIS, time‑keeping, and leave administration systems.
Responsible for the full recruitment process lifecycle (job postings, phone screening/interview setup, sending offer letters, etc.) for all open roles, including conducting the New Hire Orientation.
Set up, maintain, and administer job testing processes, including entry‑level testing.
Strong understanding and working knowledge of Nucor personnel policies, sick leave, disability, FMLA, military, and other programs while administering them within federal/state laws. Leave administration includes workers’ compensation.
Facilitate all teammate training needs, especially Nucor Culture and Leadership training.
Responsible for all HR reporting requirements such as EEO‑1, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Participate in the rollout of annual HR projects, e.g., the annual merit review process and benefits open enrollment.
Full separation process lifecycle management (participating in final disciplinary steps and handling any termination meetings, if needed, completing exit interviews for voluntary leavers, final benefit and COBRA administration, etc.).
Personnel, medical, I‑9 and EEO file administration. Other duties, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience working with core HR information in a generalist capacity OR an Associate’s degree with 4 years of experience working with core HR information in a generalist capacity, is required.
Strong PC computer skills with everyday experience working with Microsoft products, especially Outlook and Excel. Knowledge of HRIS programs is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
HR certification strongly desired.
Knowledge in SAP/SuccessFactors preferred.
Additional Requirements Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
