Process Engineer

Responsibilities
Support corporate and plant goals by assisting the Production Superintendent in daily operational and strategic activities.
Plan, direct, and oversee the work of Production Supervisors, Process Control Supervisors, and Operators to maximize production output, product quality, safety, and housekeeping standards while minimizing cost, downtime, and environmental impact.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures that ensure efficient and compliant production operations.
Establish and optimize operating parameters for reactor and wet processing systems.
Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for production equipment to ensure reliable operation.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production grades, operating status, and unit performance.
Collaborate with maintenance teams and contractors to evaluate and approve the quality and effectiveness of equipment repairs and modifications.
Train department personnel on Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods, tools, and best practices.
Analyze and troubleshoot production processes to identify root causes, implement improvements, and resolve operational issues.
Prepare and present detailed reports for plant management regarding production volume, product quality, operational performance, downtime analysis, personnel matters, and environmental compliance.
Provide chemical engineering expertise for process design, optimization initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
Evaluate process capability data and lead the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to reduce quality-related costs and improve overall performance.
Lead and execute special projects assigned by plant management.
Required Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
5 or more years of relevant experience in a chemical or manufacturing plant.
Green Belt Certification preferred.
Proficient with scientific methods, MS Office and Project, and AutoCAD.
