Associate Accountant

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Associate Accountant to support the Finance and Accounting Department at the Troubadour Golf & Field Club, located outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
Responsibilities
General Ledger Maintenance
Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Accounts Payable and Receivable
Process AP transactions, including invoice coding, approval, and payment.
Support AR by preparing invoices, sending them, and monitoring collections.
Financial Reporting
Contribute to accurate and timely financial statements.
Assist in generating financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Expense Management
Reconcile and analyze expenses, ensuring proper classification.
Audit Support
Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
Bank Reconciliation
Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Monitor cash balances and report issues or concerns.
Compliance and Internal Controls
Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls.
Financial Analysis
Support financial analysis by preparing variance reports and trend analyses.
Assist in identifying areas for process improvement and efficiency.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Experience: Entry‑level; prior internship or coursework in accounting or finance is a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy and ability to correct errors.
Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with team members and other departments.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities; ability to adapt to changing priorities or tasks.
Additional Requirements
Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
Ability to work in a team environment.
