Job Purpose:

The position of HR Generalist will partner with local Operations leaders and report to senior HR management. He/She performs human resources-related duties and may carry out responsibilities in some or all the following functional areas: recruitment, employee relations, union compliance, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, benefits enrollment, and employment law compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing. Is an employee relations specialist.

Responsible for maintenance and compliance with Union contracts and administration in accordance with terms of Collective Bargaining Agreements

Partners with management to communicate, interpret and deploy various company policies and human resource procedures.

Lead efforts to recruit exempt, nonexempt and temporary employees within region of responsibility.

Prepares responses to regulatory and compliance such as Unemployment claims

Review benefits with employees and assist in the organization and communication of the annual open enrollment and election process.

Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions. Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.

Facilitates training (including new hire orientation) to the workforce.

Maintains employee personnel files. Update Dayforce records and process paperwork for new hires, terminations and other status changes.

Coordinates employee culture through organizing and executing engagements such as company social activities, management luncheons, charitable programs, and employee recognition programs.

Processes FMLA, Leave of Absence and/or STD paperwork.

Maintain strict confidentiality of candidate and employee information

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

3+ years’ experience in a generalist HR role (including recruiting), preferably in related industry

Bachelor’s degree in business related field, preferably Human Resources or Business Management. Business and financial acumen a must.

2+ years’ experience in recruiting: sourcing, selection, onboarding

Have the ability to work under pressure, experienced problem solver

Ability to manage complex schedule and multiple commitments.

Detail oriented, strong analytical skills, ability to detect inconsistencies in data, and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must possess the ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language. Bi-lingual is preferred (Spanish/English).
