Responsibilities Assist adults with physical and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. Assist with complete care of dietary, hygiene, bathing, grooming and dressing needs, including assisting with restroom and other activities of daily living (ADL's).
Essential Functions
Outline and prepare daily routines for clients as written in Individual Program Plans.
Support the needs and goals of each resident by participating in the development of IPP/ISP goals.
Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the clients.
Take residents to visit family and friends, preferred leisure/recreation activities, and encourage them to socialize among peers.
Assist clients with personal care such as grooming, bathroom needs, changing undergarments and/or clothing if needed.
Prepare daily meals and assist with clean‑up.
Report any incidents or problems and communicate daily with administrators.
Perform other duties assigned.
Education and Experience
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED, CPR/FA, CPI, DSP 1 & 2 preferred (certifications must be obtained within 6 months of employment).
Minimum Experience: 3+ years of professional or personal experience supporting children with developmental disabilities (e.g., Autism) or mental illnesses (e.g., Bipolar) with challenging behaviors strongly preferred.
Group home license preferred; if not, must be willing to obtain within the first three months of hire.
Minimum driving experience: Valid in‑state driver’s license, over 21, current registration and insurance, driving record with no more than 2 points within last 3 years.
Must have First Aid / CPR.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
