Summary
Provides general Medical Assistant and/or Medical Secretary assistance to Medical Oncology providers and Infusion as needed in an outpatient setting within the hospital or at a hub site. The staff member demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the ages of patients served. In addition, the staff member demonstrates competency in applying these principles when providing individualized care to specific patients. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Meditech (if applicable to position), Epic (if applicable to position), Performance Manager/NetLearning.
Read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public.
Flexible, have personal integrity, and ability to function effectively as a team with other employees.
Follow written and oral instructions.
Other Requirements:
May be required to travel to satellite offices.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of one year experience, preferably in a medical office setting.
Oncology clinic experience preferred.
