Operating 24 shelters across New York City, URI provides 3,700 beds nightly in purpose‑built shelters that offer trauma‑informed services including counseling, childcare, case management, and more. URI’s Justice Initiatives extend support beyond shelter, offering programs in economic empowerment, legal advocacy, youth prevention, and abusive partner intervention. Position Overview The Case Manager Supervisor assesses mental and emotional functioning of residents and administers services for necessary treatment. They provide supervision to the Case Managers through case analysis, service planning and the supervisory process. They provide direct treatment services and issue referrals as needed.
Salary $49,000
Major Duties And Responsibilities
Supervise Case Managers.
Provide administrative and group supervision.
Coordinate staff training, meetings, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
Attend consortium meetings with DHS and others.
Coordinate mental health/psychiatric care and referrals.
Develop a network of social service providers.
Chair case conference meetings and coordinate service plan implementation.
Facilitate group meetings.
Monitor resident records for compliance.
Act independently in facility coverage and during crisis situations.
Attend monthly staff meetings and case conferences.
Assess safety and well‑being of all clients.
Participate in weekly supervision with the Director.
Participate in training seminars for clinical skills.
Assist with reports and program evaluation.
Review progress notes and service plans.
Monitor client compliance.
Develop strategies for engaging individuals with trauma histories.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Social Services.
Specifications for Education / Certifications / Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
Required Skills And Experience
Bi‑lingual in Mandarin or Spanish preferred.
5 years’ experience working with homeless individuals and their dependent children.
Experience and sensitivity with homelessness in disenfranchised communities, including LGBTQ+ and other vulnerable groups.
Familiarity with DHS regulations and DHS Cares Reporting.
Supportive group facilitation experience.
Training in assessing vocational and educational needs and aptitudes of clients.
Experience assisting clients with obtaining Public Assistance, Medicaid, and other benefits.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Collaboration with other departments, agencies, systems, and institutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Sit for extended periods.
Enter data in digital forms and spreadsheets.
Lift up to 10 pounds; occasionally reach and bend.
