Lead Engineer, Turbine Module Leader

Beehive Industries is dedicated to

Powering American Defense

by revolutionizing the design, development, and delivery of jet propulsion systems to support the warfighter. Through the integration of additive manufacturing, the company aims to meet the growing and urgent needs for unmanned aerial defense by dramatically improving a jet engine’s speed to market, fuel efficiency, and cost.

Founded in 2020, the company is headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, with additional facilities in Knoxville, Tennessee, Loveland, Ohio, and Mount Vernon, Ohio. This role can be located at our Englewood, Colorado or Loveland, Ohio facility.

What You’ll Do

Execute the design, analysis, evaluation, and assemblies of the high‑pressure turbine in an aviation gas turbine engine using sound engineering principles while meeting industry standards and program requirements, including evaluation of the effects of the overall system on components and assemblies.

Apply expertise in high‑pressure turbine design with industry‑leading analytical tools, and support mechanical and aero analysis to assure the module meets requirements.

Lead engine system or component test programs from a hardware design perspective, setting test objectives and limits, instrumentation and test data requirements, and test planning to execute component validation.

Serve as the component design subject matter expert within a diverse system design team, ensuring products and subsystems meet overall requirements from a design perspective, advocating for component durability while balancing trade‑offs and business decisions to deliver the best overall solution.

Coordinate with analysis engineers, conduct analyses, and perform design optimization to meet product requirements.

Lead design reviews and coordinate with other disciplines in design, performance, controls, stress, life, additive manufacturing, materials, and system analysis.

Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.

Participate in the research and development of technologies and methodologies associated with additive design, advising on ways to improve product design through additive manufacturing.

Initially serve as an individual contributor comfortable in a dynamic self‑directed start‑up environment, but grow leadership capabilities as the organization expands, potentially taking on team leadership responsibilities.

Ensure proper documentation of technical data generated consistent with engineering best practices.

Work with suppliers to procure hardware and resolve producibility and quality issues.

You Have

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.

At least 12+ years of experience in gas turbine component design.

U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

Strong understanding of design software tools (CAD, ANSYS, CFD, etc.).

Experience working with high‑pressure turbines for aviation product applications from a mechanical and aero design perspective.

Experience working with additive manufacturing technologies and familiarity with design for additive manufacturing principles.

Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Passion for additive technology and willingness to challenge current design limitations to exploit additive capability.

Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and strong program leadership and execution skills.

Proven self‑starter and quick learner who can thrive in fast‑paced cross‑functional teams.

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
