Job Summary And Responsibilities

The Inpatient Rehabilitation department at St. Catherine Hospital is a ten‑bed, acute inpatient physical rehabilitation unit. We care for post‑stroke and extremely debilitated patients and rehabilitate them to safely return home. Our mission is to restore patients to their best quality of life. We are a collaborative team with a somewhat flexible schedule and a strong education program within rehab. Candidates should be willing to work as a team, communicate well with staff, patients, and families, and support the rehabilitation process.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:
Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
Promoting the optimal health, well‑being, and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
Demonstrating personal accountability for relationship‑based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Job Requirements Education Requirements
Associate Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or endorsement acceptable.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs.
Experience Requirements
One year RN experience.
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to the specialty.
Licenses/Certification Requirements
RN License required; current state nursing licenses or a valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
Physical Requirements
Medium work – may exert up to 50 lbs occasionally, or up to 20 lbs frequently, or up to 10 lbs constantly.
