About Philo Law Firm

We are a high-impact, modern boutique law firm dedicated to transforming the client experience in Estate Planning, Probate, Trusts, and Estates. We leverage technology, streamlined systems, and a "service-first" culture to deliver world-class results while avoiding traditional law‑firm burnout.

The Role: Full-Cycle Stewardship

We seek a proactive, A‑player Associate Attorney to own cases from initial consultation through final resolution. As the firm’s face—whether meeting families on Zoom or representing clients in court—you will provide compassionate, efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

Full Case Management:

Manage and resolve diverse probate, trust, estate planning, and conservatorship matters, including litigated cases.

Direct Advocacy:

Represent clients in court, mediations, and depositions throughout Southern California.

Client Engagement:

Lead strategy sessions and maintain proactive, empathetic communication with clients.

Document Architecture:

Draft estate plans, petitions, motions, objections, and settlement agreements with keen attention to detail.

System Innovation:

Embrace and adapt to our technology stack to improve firm efficiency.

Collaboration:

Work closely with the team to ensure seamless case movement and elite client care.

Who You Are

Tech-Forward:

You view technology as a tool for freedom and efficiency, not a burden.

Driven & High-Accountability:

You thrive in a metrics‑driven environment and enjoy the "win" of resolving a complex file.

Service-First:

You understand that probate and conservatorship clients are often in crisis; you provide the calm in the storm.

Mobile & Resilient:

You enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid/remote role but are ready to travel to court or client meetings in Orange or San Diego County as needed.

Qualifications

Experience:

1–3+ years in estate planning, probate, trusts, or estates (we will train a growth‑minded applicant with the right grit).

Licensure:

Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.

Skills:

Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication; ability to work independently while supporting a team.

Residency:

Currently reside in Orange County or San Diego County.

Why Join Us?

Growth Track:

Build your career and pursue future leadership roles as we expand.

Quality of Life:

We value impact over "busy work" and eschew the billable hour factory model.

Competitive Benefits (Full-Time):

Performance-based bonuses | Health, Dental, and Vision insurance | 401(k) with employer match | Paid PTO, holidays, State Bar dues, and CLEs.
