Position Overview As a Passive Air Defense Engineering SME you will apply engineering expertise to the integration and evaluation of passive sensing systems. You will partner with other government organizations, commands, and agencies to design sensing architectures that minimize operational signature. Occasional travel, up to 25% is required.
Key Responsibilities
Integrate passive sensors into joint air defense architectures without active emissions
Develop threat models, signal‑processing algorithms, and simulation tools for passive tracking/classification
Advise on performance metrics for low‑observable acoustic sensing and directed‑energy effectors
Lead SME workshops and table‑top exercises to develop and validate concepts of operations
Participate in operational test events and provide engineering analysis of results
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field—or equivalent experience
Five to nine years of passive sensing or sensor‑integration engineering experience
Hands‑on proficiency with signal‑processing and simulation tools for tracking/classification
Ability to translate sensor data into technical requirements and test plans
Proficiency with government test‑planning and data‑analysis processes
Willingness to travel CONUS as required
Clearance Required: Secret
Desired Skills & Certifications
Experience with JT&E or other operational test programs
Training or certification in radar/signal‑processing engineering
