Job Summary And Responsibilities
Ask a recruitment team member for more information. The Emergency Department at St. Catherine Hospital has 14 beds, including 7 fast‑track beds. We treat all ED patients and also provide outpatient care in the afternoons as needed. We see traumas, chest pain, strokes, sepsis, and all other medical patients. Our mission is to treat others how you would like to be treated. This is a desirable department with a set schedule, a rural setting, and many interesting cases. We have a behavioral health inpatient unit and handle many behavioral health patients. In our department, we look for dependable team players.
Duties As an RN Clinical Coordinator you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and departmental activities for the unit. You will not serve as a supervisor or manager; instead you will serve as a clinical nurse and resource to the staff, authorize work procedures, assign duties, and charge shifts, as well as:
Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and ensure high‑quality care delivery to each patient.
Act as a vital link between physicians and the patient care team to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.
Maintain communication and promote cooperation with unit staff and other departments.
Provide input and recommendations to the director/manager on coaching, mentoring, and performance management of associates.
Assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Act as a professional role model for all staff by demonstrating ethical/legal/professional nursing.
Promote optimal health, well‑being, and safety of the patient through the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act.
Actively serve on the unit as a registered nurse and may take patient assignments based on unit and patient needs and acuity.
Be personally accountable for relationship‑based care, the organizational mission, and core values.
Job Requirements In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Education Requirements
Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or endorsement acceptable.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs.
Experience Requirements
One RN Emergency Room experience required.
Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to the specialty.
Licenses/Certification Requirements
RN License required; current state nursing licenses or a valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact.
BLS from AHA.
ACLS from AHA.
EPNC or PALS required.
NIHSS required.
TNCC required within one year of start date.
Physical Requirements
Medium work – exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, up to 20 lbs frequently, and up to 10 lbs constantly.
