Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit In support of the mission of UNC Greensboro, the University Registrar’s Office ( URO ) fosters student success and cultivates exemplary student experiences for all University constituents related to academic records, policies, and regulations.

The Enrollment Support Analyst, reporting to the Associate Registrar for Policies and Operations, plays a critical role in managing and maintaining the University Registrar’s Office ( URO ) enrollment systems at UNC Greensboro. Serving as the lead analyst for the Student module (Banner), this position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and functionality of key academic systems, including Banner and Degree Works.
Key responsibilities include analyzing and testing system updates, implementing changes, creating and maintaining documentation, conducting research, and performing data analysis. The role requires close collaboration with the University Registrar’s Office staff, campus advisors, faculty, academic support teams, and Information Technology Services ( ITS ) to ensure student academic records are accurate, consistent, and aligned across all systems and procedures.
This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex system processes into clear, effective practices that support the University’s academic mission.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, math, or Engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree and some computer coursework from an regionally accredited institution and one (1) year of experience developing ad-hoc queries using SQL .
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree.
Banner Student Experience and/or experience with Degree Works, Curriculum Inventory Management System, University Catalog publication, and curriculum structure.
One (1) year of experience in a Registrar’s Office or higher education administration setting.
Key Responsibilities Application Solutions and System Data Analysis (70%)
Develop, document, and maintain applications and reports, including test plans and scripts (SQL), to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with standards.
Build targeted SQL queries to support data requests from the student information system.
Review, validate, and test reports created by other writers to uphold quality and consistency.
Gather and analyze requirements for applications and reports; collaborate with ITS to design and implement data blocks that serve campus-wide needs.
Partner with data stewards to define and document data standards for clear, accurate presentation.
Provide technical support and troubleshoot reporting issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Work with the University Registrar’s Office and ITS to follow established development and release protocols for production changes.
Create and update training materials, and provide end‑user training on applications and reports developed within the University Registrar’s Office.
Systems and Process Improvement (20%)
Develop and implement technology solutions to improve University Registrar’s Office operations, ensuring feasibility and alignment with organizational needs.
Serve as a key liaison between stakeholders, ITS, enrollment management, and state systems to troubleshoot issues and develop collaborative solutions.
Design, test, implement, and maintain queries, reports, and procedures to support operational efficiency and system performance.
Conduct functional and integration testing for internal systems and third‑party applications, including web applications, APIs, and network connectivity.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, administrators, and technical teams to research, analyze, and resolve data issues across systems.
Apply expertise in platforms such as Banner Student, WebFocus, Degree Works, Student Data Mart, AdAstra, and UNC Online to drive continuous improvement.
Use Banner data and partner with key users to interpret, troubleshoot, and maintain data accuracy across all platforms.
Researches, investigates and works with URO leadership with respect to industry best practices and all federal, state and university policies involving student records (5%)
Research best practices surrounding student enrollment support and reporting.
Actively engages regional and national Registrar associations, such as AACRAO and SACRAO.
Collaborates with URO leadership on business process improvements and policy changes as needed.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned (5%)
This position works closely with other areas of the office.
As such, it is paramount that the individual in this position be a skilled collaborator who understands campus culture.
