Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as
Head Coach
for Women's Soccer. The primary role of this individual is to establish and execute a team philosophy centered on growing young women spiritually, physically, intellectually, and professionally. This involves providing leadership for all aspects of the program, including recruitment, training, competitive preparation, academic support, staff supervision, budgeting, fundraising, and program administration. The ideal candidate will cultivate a culture of discipline, unity, and high achievement while modeling Faulkner's Christian mission. Faulkner University is an NAIA Division I member and is competing in the Southern States Athletic Conference. Faulkner University is a Christian university associated with churches of Christ.
This is a full-time, 9-month position (Aug - April).
Summary of Duties
Ensure program compliance with NAIA, SSAC, and University and Athletic Department rules, policies, and procedures
Oversee yearly budget for program
Evaluate assistant coaches in the performance of their duties
Provide training, mentorship, motivation, and direction to student athletes
Coordinate practice schedules, match operations, travel arrangements, and official assignments
Recruit and retain high quality, missionally aligned student athletes
Organize camps, clinics, community events, and other revenue-support opportunities
Develop and foster positive relationships with high schools and other institutions where recruits may be drawn
Collaborate closely with the Athletic Director and the Office of Admissions in setting annual recruitment and scholarship goals
Coordinate maintenance of the soccer field
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a head or assistant soccer coach, experience at the college level preferred
Ability to work frequent evening and weekend hours, as well as travel
Active member of the churches of Christ
