Responsibilities

Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and help with merchandise selection.

React quickly to customer concerns with a sense of importance.

Provide outstanding customer service in assistance to patrons in selection of goods or substitute items.

Manage overall operations of the sales department, including ordering merchandise, receiving, pricing, and monitoring stock levels.

Communicate with HQ staff regarding special order requests or merchandise issues at store level.

Assist store management team in training employees on all cash register and front‑end duties and provide input on employee evaluations.

Operate the cash register, accept cash, personal checks, credit cards, etc.; prepare, verify, and issue change funds; collect cash receipts; compare register tapes with the Daily Activity Report; investigate discrepancies; maintain cash overage and shortage records.

Control and secure change funds, the safe, and cash registers.

Act as key carrier for opening and closing the store.

Direct/supervise other employees and assume overall store responsibility in the absence of management.

Follow all Loss Prevention policies and proactively address shrink and the Alert Line.

Adhere to all safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.

Work weekends as required.

Perform any other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Prior retail experience in inventory control and retail sales.

Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally 25 pounds, standing for long periods.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating a cash register and working knowledge of sales inventory.

Previous retail supervisory experience in the performance of the above referenced duties.

Current USCG NAF sales clerk with at least 6 months experience as a USCG NAF sales clerk.
