Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 2324)

In this role you will work with minimal supervision to support the Store Manager in all facets of store operations, develop and promote a sales culture, and create individualized solutions to meet every guest’s needs.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions or concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with meeting their video gaming needs; inform guests of special promotions; recommend additional items as appropriate; apply all selling behaviors during every transaction and thank every guest for shopping at GameStop.
Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and the guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
Process guest purchases and returns accurately using the POS computer system; make correct changes, bag merchandise, provide receipts, and ensure top‑notch guest service.
Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly, courteously, and professionally; when appropriate, elevate issues to the Store Manager.
Promote GameStop’s unique guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program, trade‑in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations, training store associates, and monitoring performance.
Ensure store associates complete onboarding, job training, compliance training before opening or closing a shift.
Coordinate staffing schedules to achieve optimum guest service and meet break and meal requirements.
Approve payroll, enter or edit paid time off, and verify accurate compensation for all store associates.
Maintain a clean, organized, and merchandised store that meets company guidelines and asset security requirements.
Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.
Perform inventory control and loss prevention duties, including daily bank deposits and visual inspections of associate packages.
Support the team in exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals.
Manage store inventory, conduct counts, restock merchandise, and maintain alphabetical organization on the sales floor.
Reconcile daily business transaction totals, complete closeout paperwork and bank deposit slips accurately.
Verify shipments for discrepancies and record or report issues.
Process defectives, recalls, and stock pulls accurately.
Respond promptly to safety incidents and report injuries according to company guidelines.
Maintain orderly store records and files and update manuals as needed.
Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders.
Adhere strictly to GameStop policies, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
Follow all opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Proof of identity and eligibility to work legally in the United States.
Minimum age of 18 years.
High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a related field preferred.
At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.
At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
Video game knowledge preferred.
