Salary: $24 – $28 per hour

Position Overview The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for driving catering and event sales by developing relationships with clients, planning and coordinating events, and ensuring a seamless experience from start to finish. This role requires a proactive, detail‑oriented individual who can meet and exceed sales targets while providing top‑tier client service.

Job Duties

Maintain or exceed budgeted booking goals and revenue in all special event areas.

Sell to a variety of market segments.

Thrive in a high‑volume, high‑pace sales office.

Consistently book repeat business by building long‑term client relationships.

Actively participate in industry‑related organizations.

Utilize a variety of sales techniques including strong closing and negotiation skills.

Conduct site inspections and client presentations.

Participate in trade shows and sales blitzes.

Engage in community/civic activities to maintain awareness and create booking opportunities.

Employ creative skills to provide innovative set‑ups, menus, and functions for groups.

Work closely with the banquet department on operations and event execution; evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.

Provide complete and detailed banquet event orders to set the operations team up for success.

Education & Experience

2+ years in catering sales/event sales required.

Experience at a similar‑size property and with a similar sales volume.

High‑school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Advanced knowledge of venue features, benefits, and competing venues within the market.

Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.

Written communication skills: concise, well‑organized, complete, and clear.

Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

Adapt communication style to suit different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Positive attitude, ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment, and enjoy time in the workplace.

Required Skills

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Track record of strong prospecting efforts.

Experience providing audio‑visual equipment and operating audio‑visual as a profit center.

Excellent knowledge of computers, specifically Delphi, Salesforce, Word, and Excel.

Ability to work with outside vendors to ensure client satisfaction for all events and groups.

Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers.

Work with a fluctuating schedule based on departmental requirements.

Observe all SRC policies and procedures.

Detail‑oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy.

Strong background in hospitality and event planning.

Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Office, Outlook, and CRM platforms.
