Position Overview We are looking for a dynamic and results‑driven
Catering Sales Manager
to lead our catering and event sales efforts. This position will be responsible for cultivating relationships with clients, planning and coordinating events, and ensuring a seamless, memorable experience from start to finish. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to meet and exceed sales targets while delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain or exceed budgeted booking goals and revenue for all special event areas.
Sell to a wide variety of market segments and thrive in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
Foster long‑term client relationships to consistently generate repeat business.
Actively engage in industry‑related organizations, trade shows, and sales blitzes.
Conduct site inspections and client presentations to showcase The Odyssey’s unique offerings.
Participate in community and civic activities to enhance brand awareness and create booking opportunities.
Use creativity to design innovative event setups, menus, and functions for groups.
Collaborate closely with the banquet department to ensure smooth event execution.
Provide detailed banquet event orders to set the operations team up for success.

Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in catering or event sales, preferably in a high‑volume, upscale restaurant or venue.
Proven track record of successfully managing sales and client relationships.
Strong understanding of venue features, market trends, and competing venues.
Experience working with audio‑visual equipment and using it as a revenue center.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, CRM platforms, and sales software (e.g., Delphi, Salesforce).
Ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and clients.
Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and pressure.
Positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
Advanced knowledge of event planning and hospitality sales.
Experience working in an upscale venue with high‑end clients.
