Doubletree Lansing – Banquets Captain

Key Responsibilities
Lead set up, service, and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring alignment with Banquet Event Orders.
Maintain appearance, service standards, and safety; uphold policy and liquor laws.
Manage team: assignment, pre‑event huddles, and training of new hires.
Act as liaison between Sales, Catering, and guests; resolve issues and prevent incidents.
Coordinate schedules, track wages, manage inventory, oversee beverage service, and handle checks, paperwork, and cash.
Assist with A/V, attend meetings, support “Lost and Found,” and maintain security of sensitive areas.
Education & Experience
Minimum 1 year progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in hospitality or a related subject is a plus.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Alcohol Awareness Certification, complying with state regulations.
Excellent communication, decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate initiative.
Strong proficiency in financial tasks and arithmetic.
