How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) Delta Air Lines is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Crew Digital IT team, a pivotal part of Delta’s operations. This role offers the opportunity to enhance operational efficiency and deliver impactful solutions for our crew-facing technologies.

Responsibilities

Lead development and provide production support for critical enterprise applications.

Serve as Tech Lead for a cross-functional squad, coordinating with onsite and offshore teams.

Maintain and support Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems, ensuring reliable device enrollment, policy enforcement, and lifecycle management for crew member mobile devices and mobile applications.

Accurately estimate deliverable timelines and manage sprint commitments.

Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable code.

Collaborate with product team members, leadership, and business partners to deliver high-quality software solutions.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

5+ years of hands‑on development experience using SQL, PL/SQL, J2EE, Spring, JavaScript, HTML5, Angular, REST APIs, and Oracle; experience with NoSQL is a plus.

Proven experience as a technical lead, guiding development teams and ensuring code quality.

Hands‑on experience with AWS Cloud technologies and MDM platforms (e.g., Intune, Workspace ONE, Jamf).

Familiarity with design thinking, test‑driven development, and embedded security practices.

Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, OpenShift), CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), and DevOps tooling (SonarQube, Nexus).

Strong troubleshooting skills for high‑priority issues and outages.

Strong communication and mentoring skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and drive alignment toward shared goals.

Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or 5+ years of relevant technical experience.

Hands‑on experience with AWS services including ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS, and DevOps pipeline setup.

AWS Certification is a plus.

Experience developing software solutions within the airline industry is a plus.

Background in DevOps and automation, including code testing, building, and deployment.
