How you’ll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) Operations Analytics Co‑ops work with analytics professionals in the operation supporting one of the following functions or departments:

Integrated Operations Planning (IOP) – optimizing aircraft schedule and resource availability to maintain peak on‑time performance

Operations Digital & Decision Science (ODDS) – developing decision science tools and digital product solutions

Corporate Safety, Security & Compliance (CSSC) – supporting the safety and security of the airline and its employees

Airport Customer Service (ACS) – improving airport processes and managing performance

Crew – improving Pilot and Flight Attendant operations and performance efficiency

Delta Connection (DC) – supporting end to end analytics and cross‑divisional operational initiatives and improvements for the operation of Delta’s regional airlines

Flight Operations (FOP) – managing aircraft and gate‑to‑gate operations and performance

Onboard Services (OBS) – optimizing process, supply, and inventory of inflight products and services

In‑Flight Services (IFS) – enhancing customer onboard experience and catering operations and performance

Operations & Customer Center (OCC) – tracking on‑time flight metrics, weather, day‑of flight analyses

Central – managing centralized operations and competitive performance analyses

Though individual responsibilities will vary by function or department, some common work responsibilities are listed below:

Measure current operational performance and/or customer satisfaction

Identify optimization opportunities to reduce injuries and security line wait times

Research, analyze, and interpret operational data

Develop new reports and dashboards and automate existing ones

Perform reliability/root‑cause analysis for parts and maintenance

Evaluate and provide recommendations for improvement of key operational metrics including aircraft time at gate, gating efficiency, and feasibility of aircraft schedules

Seek operational improvements to reduce aircraft taxi time and flight time

Maintain, run and improve staffing models to support airport operations

Provide strategic and operational support and develop performance metrics and goals

Develop success factors and statistical evaluations of new procedures

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Students are

required

to complete

three alternating semesters of work

and school; all rotations must be completed before the student’s graduation. Note: Students are not permitted to work part‑time hours and should refrain from taking classes and working as a co‑op in the same semester. The full‑time work schedule for this role, while remaining actively enrolled in an approved undergraduate curriculum, is as follows:

Summer 2026

Spring 2027

Fall 2027

Enrolled in an Undergraduate program in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or similar 4‑year degree program

Available for three alternating semesters for full‑time work

Ability to report in‑person to Delta’s World Headquarters (Atlanta, GA) or willing to relocate each semester (housing stipends will be provided to students who meet the minimum criteria)

Team oriented and highly supportive of continuous improvement methodologies

Strong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills are essential

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools and concepts

Proficiency in Python, SQL or similar database query tool knowledge and Macro programming is strongly preferred

Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.

Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.

Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
