Precision Grinding Machinist — Join the Arcotech Team
Location:
Union Grove, WI
Shift:
2nd Shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM) following training on 1st shift
Wage Range:
$23.75 – $26.18/hour, based on experience
A Day in the Life Your afternoon starts with a review of the production plan and specs. You’ll set up a lathe machining center and a cylindrical grinder, then bring steel components into tolerance. Throughout the shift, you validate Dia, TIR, and taper, carefully documenting results with micrometers, dial indicators, and a profilometer. Blueprints guide your decisions, while your knowledge of GD&T ensures every feature aligns with design intent. You’ll move confidently between multiple machine centers, use hoists and slings to handle material safely, and make adjustments via production software—all while collaborating with teammates to hit quality and schedule targets.
What You Will Do
Operate lathe machining centers and cylindrical grinding machines to finish steel components to spec.
Set up, verify, and maintain equipment for consistent, repeatable output.
Hold tight tolerances for diameter (Dia), TIR, and taper.
Inspect with micrometers, dial indicators, profilometers, and confirm against blueprints.
Apply GD&T to ensure accuracy and design compliance.
Run and coordinate multiple machine centers to meet production schedules.
Use hoists and slings to safely move materials.
Leverage computer software to monitor processes and refine setups.
Partner with peers and supervisors to uphold quality and meet customer expectations.
What You Bring
Hands‑on experience with lathe machining centers and cylindrical grinding (required).
Depth in machine setup and tolerancing for Dia, TIR, and taper.
Proficiency with precision measurement tools (micrometers, dial indicators, profilometers).
Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
Background running multiple machine centers and using related software.
Familiarity with hoists and slings for safe handling.
Detail focus and a commitment to high‑quality work.
