Position Overview The primary responsibility of the Manager – Poolside Restaurant is to assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of the poolside restaurants and food service throughout the pool decks, including Cabana, Daybed, and bar guests. All duties are performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manage daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, cleanliness, and overall restaurant quality.
Assist the General Manager in implementing financial objectives related to individual restaurant performance and overall food service on the pool decks.
Ensure safe practices for employees and guests on all pool decks, maintaining proper emergency and safety procedures.
Conduct safety training and ensure certifications remain current with state law.
Hire, train, and evaluate team members to meet departmental standards and goals.
Maintain high standards of food and beverage presentation, sanitation, and pool safety.
Oversee assignment and evaluation of work, recommend personnel actions consistent with team member performance.
Engage team members and ensure guest service guidelines align with company objectives for exceptional service.
Assist with planning, attendance, and participation in all mandatory staff meetings and training.
Supervise and coach staff to maintain and exceed company pool operation standards.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Delegate tasks and department assignments or projects, meeting deadlines related to those assignments.
Focus on achieving departmental goals using available resources (staff and budget).
Advocate preventative maintenance and security functions that protect physical assets and personal safety of employees and customers.
Ensure maintenance, cleanliness, and compliance with each restaurant and kitchen area and follow all policies and procedures per Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) requirements.
Develop staff skills to enhance department effectiveness and manage resources to eliminate excess costs or unnecessary expenditures.
Safety is an essential function of this job.
Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Company Standards Of Conduct All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements, and rules of conduct.
Minimum Qualifications
21 years of age.
Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Nevada Gaming Control Board registration, Non‑Gaming registration, Health Card, ServSafe certification, Alcohol Awareness Card (TAM), and any other certification or license required by law or policy.
At least 2 years of experience in a food & beverage leadership position; additional experience preferred.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both spoken and written.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members of diverse backgrounds and levels of experience.
Work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
Lift or carry 50 pounds, unassisted, as required.
Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
Interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.
Walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods.
Work in a fast‑paced and busy environment.
Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as noise and dust.
