Responsibilities

Maintains proficiency in assigned imaging modalities while actively pursuing professional growth to support a collaborative and progressive Imaging Department.

Performs all duties in accordance with hospital policies, departmental procedures, New York State regulations, and accrediting agency standards.

Assists physicians during all phases of nuclear medicine procedures.

Delivers safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care.

Supports AMCH and the Imaging Department in meeting and maintaining accreditation requirements.

Participates in on‑call coverage, including radiopharmaceutical preparation in the hot lab as scheduled.

Establishes IV access and administers radiopharmaceuticals in accordance with physician orders.

Accurately enters patient information and exam data into electronic systems.

Skills / Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D.-required

Associate’s degree from an AMA‑approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program-required

4‑6 years of Nuclear Medicine experience-required

Ability to work independently while providing guidance and support to less experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists

Demonstrated expertise in managing complex patient cases and proficiency with imaging acquisition and processing software

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills; serves as a mentor, resource, and preceptor

Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, procedural manuals, and protocols; document information accurately; and communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Strong mathematical skills, including calculating dose volumes, decay corrections, activity levels, rates, ratios, and percentages related to imaging procedures

Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, punctuality, sound judgment, and attention to detail; adheres to AMC policies and ethical standards; collaborates effectively with others and proactively resolves issues to ensure uninterrupted patient care

Ability to identify problems, analyze data, draw valid conclusions, and adapt practices through continuing education and situational awareness

ARDMS or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine Technology) certification upon hire-required

NMTCB certification upon hire-required

Salary: $86,650-$134,309 annually DOE
