Purpose and Summary Statement Assumes responsibility for targeted sales calls. Responsible for sales and marketing of all liquid propane and accounts receivable within assigned territory.
Essential Job Functions
Establish a route system in delivery territory and deliver product according to customer requirements.
Record sales and delivery information on daily sales.
Maintain a preferred prospect list and call on prospective customers to solicit new business.
Prepare order forms and sales contracts.
Communicate marketing programs and distribute sales promotion materials to customers and prospects.
Adhere to and support the company credit policy, checking credit history of patron before making a sale and explaining policy to new customers.
Obtain signed equipment lease contract prior to servicing an account.
Maintain accounts receivable according to company credit policy.
Respond to all complaints and follow through to assure satisfactory settlement.
Maintain plant and company inventory according to company standards, controlling shrink at an acceptable level.
Maintain vehicle and equipment in safe operating condition.
Develop and maintain a record of company owned tanks and equipment.
Other Job Functions
May be required to conduct pressure tests to assure the integrity of the system prior to placing a system into service or in the event service is interrupted.
May be required to maintain records of all regulators, including date of manufacture, and changes regulators as necessary.
May be required to perform leak tests on customer systems as required.
Follow GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures as they apply.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Normally requires a high school diploma, or equivalent, and 1 year experience related to the position.
Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.
Must be able to achieve and maintain Certified Propane Specialist certification.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement and satisfactory driving record.
Frequently exposed to extreme weather conditions. Working conditions may occasionally include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
Occasionally may be required to work at varying heights.
Frequently required to lift 51 lbs – 70 lbs.
Must be able to travel independently and overnight.
Must be willing to work hours beyond those considered “normal.”
Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
