Job Summary Dental Assistant – Murrells Inlet Dentistry (Heartland Dental) We’re looking for a dedicated and caring Dental Assistant to join our team. In this role you will provide exceptional patient care, collaborate with the dental team, and support the efficient operation of our office. Responsibilities Greet and welcome patients at the start of their visit, providing comfort and education. Review patient health history to support quality care. Take and process x-rays and other diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography). Assist dentists chairside using four‑handed dentistry for a wide variety of procedures, in accordance with state dental practice act. Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling, record keeping and inventory management. Prepare treatment room, adhere to safety protocols, follow OSHA & CDC recommendations. Manage supply and inventory levels, place and expedite orders as needed. Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow. Qualifications Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology. Experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment. If required, dental assistant certification and/or x‑ray certification. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Will have access to PHI; regular HIPAA training required. Preferred Experience 1+ year in a dental setting. Experience with Dentrix or other dental software. Dental assisting school certification. Physical Requirements Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Prolonged periods sitting and standing. Lifts and carries up to 45 pounds at times. Availability for periodic virtual or in‑person training sessions. TB test required for new hires in dental office positions; test arranged during pre‑employment.
