Responsibilities
The role involves preparing surfaces by cleaning and sandblasting parts to ensure proper coating adhesion.
It includes applying powder coating or wet paint using spray guns and automated equipment while adhering to specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities also cover setting up, operating, and maintaining spray booths, curing ovens, and related machinery.
Quality control is essential, requiring inspection of finished surfaces for uniformity, adhesion, coverage, and defects, along with performing touch‑ups or rework when necessary.
The position demands accurate color matching and mixing to achieve desired finishes, strict compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company safety policies, and proper handling of chemicals and PPE.
Routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of coating equipment are expected, as well as documenting production data, batch details, and inspection results.
Collaboration with production supervisors, assemblers, and quality inspectors is key to meeting project timelines and specifications.
Required Qualifications and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in coatings preferred.
2+ years of experience in industrial painting or powder coating.
Knowledge of surface preparation, masking, coating application, and curing processes.
Familiarity with spray guns, powder coating systems, and curing ovens.
Ability to read and follow work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
Physical stamina for long periods, lifting parts, and working in hot environments.
Commitment to workplace safety and PPE compliance.
