University of Florida Jacksonville Physicians, Inc. invites applicants for the Medical Assistant / Customer Service Representative role in Southside. The position is full‑time, days shift.
Overview A professional, multis-skilled medical assistant dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice, including administrative and clinical procedures, under direct supervision of a licensed physician.
Responsibilities
Take patients' vital signs.
Prepare patients for provider care and assist with patient examinations or treatments.
Document all entries in the medical record, including electronic or hard copy, with signature, date, and time.
Administer medication as directed and supervised by a licensed physician.
Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms; collect routine laboratory specimens as directed.
Administer basic first aid.
Participate in performance‑improvement projects.
Participate as an active care‑team member in coordination of patient care.
Provide a standard of excellence in customer service to patients, staff, and other customers.
Qualifications
1‑year experience as a medical assistant (preferred).
2–4 years of clerical or customer‑service experience in healthcare (preferred).
1‑year experience with third‑party payors and computer data entry and review (preferred).
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required, or expected within 6 months.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire.
Medical Terminology Certificate preferred at hire.
Completed an accredited MA program by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies, a national or state medical association, or an agency approved by the board.
Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED required at time of hire.
Additional Details
May travel to other clinics as part of additional duties.
Additional duties may vary as assigned.
