Base pay range $30.00/hr - $32.00/hr

Job Summary

Responsible for transporting, relocating, loading, and unloading gasoline or diesel-powered tractor-trailer from base to established destination(s) within the transportation yard and/or making local deliveries when needed.

Performs routine vehicle inspection and preventative maintenance on equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure they are clean and in good working condition in compliance with DOT regulations.

Commercial driver's license class A is required for this position.

Essential Functions / General Accountabilities

Pick up loads and ensure loads are secured

Transport pallet goods and packages from the place of origin to the assigned destination

Pump products from trucks to customer storage tanks using truck-mounted pumps and hoses

Obtain signature from customer to confirm delivered quantity

Communicate with dispatch and customer service as needed

Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs

Track and report working hours

Adhere to company rules and regulations

Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions

Move trailers to and from the yard and loading locations including making local deliveries.

Load/unload tanker trailers and railcars following proper protocols.

Follow and maintain loading protocols and re-check the loads for proper weights and seal requirements.

Perform all DOT and hazmat checks before and after each movement.

Maintain and service the vehicle as needed (e.g., refuel, change oil, check tire pressure, make repairs, etc.).

Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and tools.

Ensuring that the truck has sufficient fuel at all times.

Long-distance hauls

Fill out necessary delivery forms and paperwork including use of E-Log technology.

Must adhere to all traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in every circumstance, and report unsafe vehicle and working conditions to supervisors.

Job Qualifications

Valid CDL Class A with T, X endorsements (T,X = hazmat tanker) (required)

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of professional truck driving educational program (preferred)

Experience: 1-2 years of verifiable experience (preferred)

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) (required)

No recent legal, moving, or safety violations on record

Forklift Certified (preferred)

Must pass a background check and drug test

Skills

Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.

Proficient in using GPS and other routing systems

A desire to work with team members to improve processes and product quality in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Willingness to comply with safety and quality regulations, including wearing protective gear when necessary.

Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (E-Logs)

Outdoors including load/unloading in extreme weather conditions

Physical requirements of the position, including walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods, lifting heavy objects, climbing, crouching, operating tools, and wearing safety gear.

Ability to lift 75lbs or more.
