Job Description:

  • The Phlebotomist II represents the face of the organization to patients as part of their routine healthcare or diagnostic needs.
  • This role is responsible for collecting quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures.
  • The Phlebotomist II interacts directly with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and performing blood draws in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.
  • The role emphasizes process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. Assignments may include a doctor s office, patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.
Requirement/Must Have:
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.
  • Commitment to policies and procedures related to safety, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
  • Strong decision-making skills using established procedures and good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver s license, if applicable.
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong customer focus with clear and professional communication skills.
Experience:
  • Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboarding and data entry experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe, professional, and compliant work environment.
  • Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens following established procedures.
  • Verify patient identification and specimen labeling in the patient s presence.
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
  • Promote a positive image with patients, clients, coworkers, and the public.
