The
Emergency Medicine Clinical Pharmacist
provides direct, advanced clinical pharmacy services within the Emergency Department (ED). This role supports safe, timely, and effective medication use for acute and critically ill patients and serves as an integral member of the emergency care team. The pharmacist collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize pharmacotherapy, ensure regulatory compliance, and improve patient outcomes in a fast-paced emergency care environment. Key Responsibilities Provide real-time clinical pharmacy support within the Emergency Department Review, verify, and optimize medication therapy for emergency and critical care patients Participate in emergency responses, codes, and rapid clinical decision-making Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff on medication selection, dosing, and safety Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and best practices Support medication-related education for clinical staff as needed Maintain accurate clinical documentation, reporting, and intervention tracking Promote medication safety initiatives and quality improvement efforts Required Qualifications & Skills Active
Delaware Pharmacist License
or eligibility to obtain Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) Certification Certificate in
Emergency Medicine or Critical Care Minimum
2 years of hospital pharmacy experience Completion of formal
clinical pharmacy training Current
