Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Physical Therapist located in Reno, NV. The Physical Therapist will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs for patients, helping them recover from injuries and improve their movement and functionality. Daily responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, developing tailored rehabilitation plans, monitoring patient progress, providing home care recommendations, and ensuring high standards of patient care. The therapist will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to support patients in achieving their recovery goals.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES Responsible for providing patient care including assessing, interpreting, planning, and formulating physical therapy treatment plans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Assesses patient condition, establishes goals, treatments, and care plans in conjunction with the physician, patient/family. • Ensures that appropriate treatment is performed in an interdisciplinary fashion, consulting with physicians about the impact of physical therapy factors on the patient’s health status. • Documents findings, treatments, and other patient information for the medical record. • Educates patient/family on appropriate care and use of various therapies/exercises. • Serves as information/education resource for patients, families, and staff. • Supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy Technicians. • Serves as a resource to Physical Therapy staff. • Provides ongoing education to the Physical Therapy staff. • Assists the director with patient care issues. • Maintains patient confidentiality. • The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for the job position.

EDUCATION • Requires a Valid and active State Licensure • Clinical Doctorate (DPT) preferred.

EXPERIENCE • Two years of experience in an out-patient physical therapy clinic. Experience with orthopedics is preferred. • Will Consider New Grads

REQUIREMENTS • Current state license.

KNOWLEDGE • Knowledge of physical therapy principles, standards, and applications. • Knowledge of clinic policies, procedures, regulations, safety/infection control, quality control. • Knowledge of how to use physical therapy equipment. • Knowledge of medical terminology.

SKILLS • Skill in appropriate evaluation and treatment of patients. • Skill in effectively communicating with in-house as well as external physicians and referral sources. • Skill in using a computer system/EMR to accurately reproduce all appropriate documentation. • Skill in accurate recognition of patient/clinic danger and appropriate fall risk patients.

ABILITIES • Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and staff. • Ability to supervise and mentor physical therapy staff. • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form. • Ability to be a resource to patients and staff.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS • Normal office environment. • Some travel within the community.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS • Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment. • Some bending and stretching are required. • Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard. • Requires occasional support all size patients in transfers. • Ability to lift 50 lbs. Demands of kneeling, squatting, overhead lifting.
