You will report to the JBT Marel Senior Field Service Manager.
Responsibilities
Customer site installation and commissioning of equipment.
Training, retrofits, service, and preventive maintenance.
Emergency or unscheduled repairs of equipment.
Regular preventive maintenance on equipment with client coordination.
Advisory services during install, service, and repair visits.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical and mechanical CAD drawings, P&ID's, and flow schemes.
Accurately prepare and submit inspection reports, service reports, time sheets, and expense reports.
Adhere to JBT Marel dispatch and other employee policies.
Inspect assembled equipment and all operating parts for proper installation and operation.
Maintain inspection records and identify trends affecting equipment.
Recommend equipment modifications to eliminate future performance problems.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
Interact with internal and external project managers during field projects.
Consult with engineering team to resolve unusual problems.
Communicate professionally with customers regarding status of commissioning.
Supervise/train customer employees and staff in testing, tuning, and adjusting equipment.
Ensure time sheets are signed off by the customer and inform customers before additional time requiring invoicing.
Take and respond to customer service, emergency, and breakdown calls during business hours (may be asked after hours on occasions).
Travel approximately 90%, up to 6 weeks at a time.
Basic Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in a Field Service Technician capacity (preferred).
AS, AAS, or equivalent education/work experience.
Willingness to travel up to 90%, domestically and internationally.
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical prints, including PLC ladder logic (plus).
Use of precision measurement instruments.
Proactive mindset, self-starter, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working as a team.
Ability to work independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and web-based databases.
Experience installing multimillion-dollar capital equipment products.
Experience with ultra-high pressure or water jet cutting machines desired.
Previous work experience in a food processing facility desired.
Valid Driver's License and valid passport.
The estimated annual salary range for this role is $62K – $84K. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
