We are a privately held organization with approximately $10 million in annual revenue. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to strengthen our accounting function and partner closely with the CFO. This role is designed for a capable accounting professional who can step into and grow toward full controller responsibilities as the organization continues to evolve.

Position Summary The Assistant Controller will manage day‑to‑day accounting operations while helping elevate the company’s financial reporting, controls, and processes. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong accounting fundamentals, ownership of the close process, and the ability to move beyond basic bookkeeping.

The ideal candidate has three to five plus years of accounting experience, is comfortable operating independently, and is motivated by a clear growth path into a Controller‑level role.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee full‑cycle accounting including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and cash management

Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Implement and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures

Support audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors as needed

Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CFO

Assist with cost accounting and margin analysis preferred

Utilize and optimize accounting systems; NetSuite experience is a strong plus

Help transition accounting from a transactional or bookkeeping focus to a more structured, scalable function

Qualifications Required

Three to five plus years of progressive accounting experience

Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month‑end close

Experience preparing financial statements

Proficiency with accounting software and Excel

Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities

Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills

Preferred but not required

Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent hands‑on experience

Experience in a small to mid‑sized company environment

Salary and Benefits Salary range is $90,000 to $115,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
