What the Assistant Controller Will Do

Oversee the month-end and quarter-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Review and approve complex journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

Manage general ledger integrity across multiple entities and business units.

Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements and reporting packages.

Partner with leadership on acquisition integration, accounting assessments, and process alignment.

Implement and strengthen internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures across the organization.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accounting insights and variance explanations.

Liaise with auditors and manage all audit deliverables, schedules, and supporting documentation.

Mentor and develop staff, providing leadership, training, and performance oversight.

Identify opportunities to automate workflows, upgrade systems, and improve financial accuracy and efficiency.

What the Company Needs In An Assistant Controller

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.

5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior accountant, accounting manager, or assistant controller responsibilities.

Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP, consolidations, multi-entity reporting).

Experience in a PE-backed, high-growth, or acquisitive environment preferred.

Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large, complex data sets.

Strong leadership capabilities with experience supervising and developing staff.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present to leadership.

Proactive mindset with the ability to streamline processes and drive efficiency.
