Position Summary

The Ceramic Quality Inspector is responsible for examining ceramic components and products at various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure they meet defined quality standards and specifications. This role involves visual inspections, dimensional measurements, and basic testing to detect defects such as cracks, warping, surface inconsistencies, and other non‑conformities. The inspector plays a key role in maintaining product integrity and ensuring compliance with internal and industry‑specific quality requirements. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of ceramic materials, components, and final products. Identify surface and structural defects such as cracks, chips, glazing issues, or deformities. Use precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify tolerances. Record inspection results and report any non‑conforming to product and production team leads. Assist in maintaining documentation and traceability of inspected items. Communicate with production staff to correct quality issues in real time. Support audits, quality meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure all inspections adhere to safety protocols and quality standards. Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications

High school diploma or technical certificate; additional training in quality or ceramics is a plus. 1-2 years of experience in quality inspection, preferably in ceramics or materials manufacturing. Familiarity with inspection techniques and tools. Basic understanding of ceramic properties and common defects. Special Requirements

Location: Aurora, NY Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Computer proficiency including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to maintain accurate records and data files. Ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing. Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and details simultaneously. Equipment Used

Computer, printer, telephone, photocopier, scanner, and calculator. Computer Software

Outlook, Word and Excel and NetSuite. Physical and Mental Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, use fingers, grasp, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists. Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to move objects. High mental and visual attention required for planning difficult work methods and sequences to obtain size, shape, or physical qualities of product. Environmental Conditions
