Child and Youth Program Assistant CY-01/02 Position located in Tracy, California.

Summary Executes duties as a Child and Youth Program Assistant in a Child and Youth Services program, ensuring the safety and well‑being of children and youth while delivering age‑appropriate activities.

Duties

Maintains control and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth.

Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs for program participants.

Establishes a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions.

Prepares, arranges, and maintains indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials for daily schedules and provides program options for children with special requirements.

Maintains program participation data and completes daily reports.

Requirements

Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.

Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment.

A one‑year probationary period may be required.

Satisfactory completion of an employment verification (E‑Verify) check.

Must have a current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health; immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy.

May be subject to irregular hours, evenings and/or weekends.

For positions in Child Development Centers, possess physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend, stoop, and stand routinely.

Legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.

May be required to administer medications, perform CPR and first aid, and provide reasonable accommodations to children/youth with special needs.

Travel to on‑ and off‑post locations may be required. Duties involve working indoors and outdoors. \ Satisfactory completion of pre‑employment background checks in accordance with AR 215‑3 and a Child Care Tier 1 investigation is required.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.

Successful completion of required annual training within the prescribed timeframe and demonstrate on‑the‑job competence.

Qualifications

High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.

Must be able to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

For Entry Level (CY‑01): must have a high school diploma or GED and meet communication requirement.

Additional Information

Job open to candidates residing within a 50‑mile radius of Tracy, California. Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates included.
