Accountant/Bookkeeper duties include working closely with the accounting team to create and analyze financial reports, ensure compliance with legal requirements, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage invoices and tax payments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Mail/Inter‑Office Runner Coordination – daily mail sorting/routing to team members
Oversee AP, AR, cash flow management, and account reconciliation
Process check runs and manage payment schedules efficiently
Prepare, process, and post wire transfers
Manage employee expense reimbursement and monthly employee credit card reconciliation
Analyze financial reports and records
Reconcile, review, and report daily cash activity and positions
Reconcile company balance sheet accounts
Participate in month‑end close procedures
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Reconcile sub‑ledger to general ledger account balances
Prepare sales‑tax work papers and submissions monthly
Post adjusting journal entries
Support financial and tax audits
Create ad‑hoc reports based on the accounting software as requested
Assist in special projects
Handle confidential or proprietary information with proper consideration of ethical and legal ramifications
Contribute to transition from paper‑based filing systems to digital platforms, showcasing a tech‑forward approach
Competencies
Handling multiple entities and maintaining a consolidated general ledger
Prioritize workload to achieve effective results in a fast‑paced and growing environment
Work independently, in partnership with others, and collaboratively
Excellent organizational and analytical skills and ability to multi‑task
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Safeguard company information by observing security regulations
Be a catalyst for continuous improvement by making recommendations based on empirical data and business experience
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of senior‑level accounting experience
Familiarity with accounting and finance principles and procedures
Computer/Equipment Skills
Strong knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Adobe
QuickBooks Premier Accountant, Pro Advisor experience is a plus
Environmental Factors / Physical Demands Work is performed in an office environment. Employee must have ordinary ambulatory skills and ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate light to medium weights of 10‑30 pounds. Requires good hand‑eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently sits, reaches with hands and arms, talks and hears.
