Responsibilities
Oversee initiation and administration of physician onboarding in MD-Staff, guiding on required documentation, forms, and credentialing activities through final approval and activation.
Manage credentialing and privileging activities, identify delays, and support temporary, initial, and reappointment processes by coordinating applications, collecting required documentation, and collaborating with the Director of Professional Services on identified issues or red flags.
Conduct comprehensive verification of credentials—including licensure, employment and malpractice history, education and training, board certifications, DEA and ECFMG status, NPDB and NAMSS Pass reports, and AMA profiles—while maintaining compliant credentialing files consistent with Joint Commission standards.
Maintain accurate and current records in MD-Staff, ensuring expirable items remain up‑to‑date and recording demographic or profile changes in Salesforce.
Submit IT provisioning and system setup requests through Jira and coordinate with IT and Implementation personnel to arrange equipment configuration and OnePacs training for new physicians.
Manage the shared Credentialing email inbox and incoming fax communications, providing timely responses or routing items to the appropriate team members.
Participate in departmental training opportunities and perform additional assignments or administrative duties as directed by leadership.
Education and Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of experience in a role requiring high attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and task tracking (e.g., legal assistant, administrative assistant, insurance claims processor, medical billing specialist, transcription coordinator, educational registrar, mortgage/loan processing).
Proven ability to manage large volumes of data with minimal errors; experience using spreadsheets, shared trackers, or compliance tools is a plus.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a virtual environment and meet deadlines independently.
Comfortable handling confidential information and communicating with professionals in regulated fields.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly convey timelines, requirements, and follow‑ups.
A self‑starter able to learn regulations or processes quickly and apply them consistently.
Proficient in creating, editing, and managing documents using Microsoft Office Suite.
