Responsibilities We’re looking for hands‑on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available storage services. As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will own the software design and development for major components of the Storage Service Infrastructure. You should be both a rock‑solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the Control Plane stack and low‑level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
Minimum Qualifications
10+ years of experience delivering large scale, highly available distributed systems and backend services.
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, multi‑threading, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Extensive experience developing clean code in Java (or similar object‑oriented language), as well as scripting languages such as Python.
Strong understanding of storage systems (block / object / file) and distributed persistence technologies.
System design experience on designing complex distributed system with ultra low latency and very high throughput.

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 – $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
