Position Overview
We are recruiting on behalf of a retained client for an
Assistant Project Manager or Senior Project Engineer
to join a rapidly growing construction company specializing in water infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering a major project in
Oakland , with opportunities to progress quickly into higher leadership roles as the company expands. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional with prior experience in
water or wastewater construction

Key Responsibilities
Assist in planning, scheduling, and managing project activities from start to finish.
Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery.
Monitor project budgets, costs, and progress, reporting regularly to senior management.
Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to support accurate execution.
Manage procurement of materials and equipment as needed.
Support client communication and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Identify and resolve project challenges proactively.
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
Qualifications
Previous experience in
water or wastewater construction projects
is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
3–7 years of experience in project engineering or assistant project management roles.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Driven, proactive, and eager to take on increasing responsibility.
