The Store Manager In Training (SMIT) program is a development‑focused role that prepares you for a Store Manager position. The program includes a 16‑week self‑paced, collaborative training, virtual and hands‑on learning experiences, and support from a District Leader, Human Resources Business Partner, Training Store Manager, and a Store Manager coach.
Key Responsibilities
Actively engage with your leader in Key Learning Experiences to support your path to promotion during the program.
Support your store as a management team member and lead in a manner consistent with CVS values and policies.
Engage your colleagues in support of the company’s purpose of “helping people on their path to better health.”
Be willing to accept promotion roles with the market you work in and any location within the designated market.
Perform customer care duties to maintain high levels of service.
Execute merchandising strategies to support store sales growth.
Manage store inventory and assets to maintain profitability.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED (required).
Bachelor’s degree preferred; a four‑year college degree or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a college degree.
Retail management experience or experience as a CVS Supervisor.
Willingness to accept a promotion to Store Manager at any location within the designated market.
Ability to transfer to other CVS Pharmacy stores in the designated market.
Ability to work a schedule that may vary based on business needs.

Pay Range:
$18.50 – $28.67 per hour (base hourly rate or base annual salary depending on position grade). Actual offer depends on experience, education, geography and other factors.
