Our customer, Headquarters United States Space Force ( HQ USSF) Director of Staff Security Office (SF/DSZ) is responsible for carrying out and providing administration and management of the collateral security program, administration and management as SSO USSF Region 3 for cyber, personnel activities relating to the Sensitive Compartmented Personnel Security Program, Information Security, Industrial Security, Physical Security, and Special Access Program (SAP) security for United States Space Force (USSF) Field Command and the Space Staff. In addition, SF/DSZ enables USSF to meet all physical and environmental protection, personnel security, incident handling, information system security, COMSEC, and security training requirements in order to ensure information is protected and safeguarded in accordance with DoD instructions.
ADV was awarded as prime contractor for this mission. We are seeking an
Information Systems Security Officer
for this important initiative. Overall duties are but not limited to planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks. Support integration of Cyber capabilities with other DoD Services and other federal agencies/organizations required to implement national strategy, policy, and guidance. On-site presence is required Monday through Friday (9:00 AM–5:00 PM); no telework is permitted
due to sensitive/classified information. This role is located at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. Candidates must currently reside within the Washington, DC metropolitan area. An *Active* Top-Secret clearance with SCI is required for this role. Responsibilities are but not limited to: Some of the duties are day-to-day and while others occur frequently, semi-annually and annually. Provide day-to-day customer support for AFJWICS and related Cyber Assurance or Cyber Security needs through face-to-face interactions, telecom, and collaboration tools. Ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in compliance with security policies and procedures outlined in security authorization artifacts. Stay current by attending required technical and security training (e.g., operating systems, networking, security management). Verify users have appropriate security clearances, need-to-know access, and required security awareness training before granting system access. Manage classified message incidents, overseeing response, cleanup, and reporting to delegated authorities. (i.e. ISSM). Conduct periodic information system reviews to ensure compliance with security standards and authorization artifacts. Coordinate hardware, software, and firmware modifications with the ISSM and AO/DAO (prior to change) to maintain an accurate SCIF baseline. Formally notify ISSM/AO/DAO of any changes impacting system authorization. Collaborate with the ISO, ISSE, and ISSM on risk assessments. Monitor system recovery processes to confirm security features and procedures are restored and functional. Ensure all IS security-related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals. Thus far for eMASS but for JWICS in XACTA when required. Coordinates all new SCI IT requirements with HQSF Helpdesk Asset Manager and SAP IT with SAF/AQL via SPRG. Conduct annual Cyber Security Self-Assessments and Program Reviews for SCIFs, including executing POA&Ms to address observations (write ups). Provides AFJWICS account support/troubleshooting. Provides AFJWICS PKI certificate support/troubleshooting. Leverage expertise in the RISK MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK which provides Cyber Assurance support for HQSF ATO projects via XACTA (AFJWICS) and eMASS (NIPR/SIPR) to develop and update a Special Security Plan (SSP). Coordinates AFJWICS and SAP IT data calls and taskers with respective stakeholders Stay current with all applicable regulations, instructions, SOPs, and guidance related to ISSO duties. Required Qualifications - AT A MINIMUM: Bachelor’s degree in IT or Cybersecurity. Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility Experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) IT environments
within a DoD or Intelligence Community setting On-site presence is required Monday-Friday; no telecommuting due to sensitive information. Four (4) or more years of experience in Security and Information technology-related field involving Risk Management Framework (RMF) and defense Information Assurance (IA) processes. Required certification(s):
Active DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II
certification (e.g.,
CompTIA Security+CE [continuing education],
and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate [CCNA]-Security, and/or Global Information Assurance Certification [GIAC] Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional [GICSP]). Desired Qualifications: Master’s degree in IT or Cybersecurity. DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional [CISSP]).
