Job duties will include, but are not limited to, the safe operation of plant equipment, inspection of equipment, cleaning of equipment, unit startup, unit shutdown, running water tests, and other duties as required. Employee will assist with the execution of safety procedures including lock out tag out and confined space entry. Responsibilities
Safely operate plant equipment and inspect equipment. Clean equipment and assist with unit startup and shutdown. Run water tests and perform other duties as required. Participate in safety procedures including lock out tag out and confined space entry. Actively participate in hands-on training, required classroom training, and computer interactive training programs as directed by management. Travel to other locations may be required. Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Must have successfully passed the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Plant Operator Selection Systems (POSS) test. Must work rotating shifts. Must respond to overtime and call outs. Must commit to working safely and adhere to Company safety rules including wearing a hard hat, safety footwear, protective eye wear, and proper PPE. Able to lift 50 pounds. Valid driver’s license. Must be respirator qualified (Pulmonary Function Test). Must take baseline audiogram. Knowledge of equipment operation such as pumps and motor controls; power plant/industrial operations experience is desired. Successfully pass the Xcel Energy screening requirements, which include a drug test, security clearance and other exams required by federal regulations (such as OSHA and DOT) as required. One year of industrial electrical experience desired. Environmental Exposure & Work Environment
Work around energized/rotating equipment, confined spaces, vibrating equipment, heights, and noise levels requiring ear protection. Exposure to chemical fumes, lead, and dust requiring respirator use; may handle asbestos and other hazardous materials. Must be able to walk, climb stairs and ladders; work on gravel, concrete, and uneven surfaces; may work off ladders and scaffolding in elevated positions. Additional Information
Base pay: Starting around $30.93 per hour (anticipated).
