By joining the team as a
Loss Control Construction Specialist , you’ll work with policyholders , agents, and company personnel through survey consultations and educational guidance.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Provide training, onboarding, coaching, and quality oversight for any additional l oss c ontrol c onstruction c onsultants (new or existing) within your region
Develop, update, and maintain l oss c ontrol technical resources related to the c onstruction v ertical (e.g., survey guides, bulletins, webinars, and research of new vendors) with support from the s enior l oss c ontrol c onstruction m anager and d irector of l oss c ontrol
Be a technical resource and act as an expert providing direction and identifying new ways to improve processes
Provide internal training support to l oss c ontrol and u nderwriting teams
Complete hazard four reviews as assigned for c onstruction - related l oss c ontrol reports
Conduct l oss c ontrol surveys and service activities in your assigned territory for c onstruction accounts over a designated premium threshold
Attend and actively participate in c onstruction u nderwriting group meetings as requested and visit key agency partners in conjunction with our c onstruction u nderwriters and d istribution team.
Provide education to agents on OHSA relevant onsite trainings and certifications for complex/large middle market c onstruction accounts and agencies as requested (e.g., OSHA trainings)
Conduct surveys for s mall b usiness c onstruction accounts as workloads allow
Travel via assigned company vehicle within a defined territory to provide l oss c ontrol services to policyholders and agents in assigned territories
Independently complete tasks and projects, including research and analysis, and provide recommendations to support underwriting profitability
Analyze claims, hazards, and safety data to make effective decisions and recommendations
Assist with non-construction accounts as assigned
Independently complete continuing education and certifications that support technical skills related to the c onstruction vertical
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health with a concentration in Construction Safety or related field and six years of experience conducting surveys for small and middle market c onstruction - related risks such as r esidential and c ommercial c ontractors (to include c ivil c ontractors, h omebuilders, g eneral c ontractors, and a rtisan c ontractors).
Or eight years of experience conducting surveys for small and middle market c onstruction - related risks such as r esidential and c ommercial c ontractors (to include c ivil c ontractors, h omebuilders, g eneral c ontractors, and a rtisan c ontractors).
Possess and maintain Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation
ARM, CRP, CPCU, CFPS, CRM, ASP, CSP, or OHST risk management designation
Valid d river’s license
A b ility to climb ladders and access building rooftops and construction job sites
Preferred
Ability to professionally interact with our agents and policyholders
Ability to make favorable impressions with agents, policyholders , and company personnel
Excellent organization and territory planning skills
Ability to investigate, gather facts and information, and analyze coverage

Must be available for travel, including overnight travel
