Overview Supports the Central Region encompassing Westwood, Century City, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica areas, providing patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes on‑call, holiday, and weekend schedules prepared by the manager, and participation in rotating shifts as needed.
Responsibilities
Provide age‑appropriate assessment and interventions to meet the needs of patients and families.
Obtain, evaluate, and use information from patient requisition, medical records, referring physician, and correlate with acquired images.
Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify and differentiate anatomy and pathology.
Use independent judgment to produce diagnostic images of human anatomy utilizing diagnostic ultrasound systems for referring providers and interpreting physicians.
Extend courtesy to patients, family members, visitors, and co‑workers through “World Class Practices” Service Standards.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of acute care (hospital) experience – required for Staff.
RDMS credential in one specialty (Abdomen or OBGYN) – required for Staff.
4 years of prior acute care experience – required for Senior.
RDMS credential in Abdomen, OBGYN and RVT – required for Senior.
BLS/CPR Certificate – required.
Graduate of CAAHAP ultrasound program – strongly preferred.
AAS or higher in Medical Sonography – preferred.
Advanced skills in Vascular and/or MSK ultrasound – preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, independent decision‑making, prioritization, attention to detail, basic typing skills, and knowledge of medical terminology.
Experience & Salary
Staff Sonographer: 1–2 years experience in acute care; RDMS certification in one specialty. Salary range $58.74 – $77.50 per hour.
Senior Sonographer: Minimum 4 years experience in acute care; RDMS certifications in three specialties (Abdomen, OBGYN, RVT). Salary range $65.55 – $79.93 per hour.
Salary for Staff through Senior: $58.74 – $79.93 per hour.
Internal candidates
will be placed according to their current career ladder level.
