The 46-bed 3 West Tower General Surgery Unit is known for its outstanding communication skills, caregiver engagement, and community service. Nurses play an integral role in the care of our adult and geriatric patients here. As an RN in this department, you will use your technical skills to enhance care and facilitate a welcoming, healing environment for patients. You can also benefit from active Shared Governance Committee participation, employee activities, and community services.
Work Hours:
Days from 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
One year of current acute care RN experience or military RN experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye–hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $33.50
Maximum hourly: $53.60
The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after considering factors such as work history, experience, skill set, and education. It does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
