Responsibilities

Performs mammographic procedures in a timely manner on all patient types as prescribed by physicians; coordinates cases with co‑workers in a productive manner.

Performs quality control on equipment prior to first patient use each day to assure optimum imaging; performs required quality tests as scheduled to comply with ACR and state regulations.

Assists in the proper operation of equipment through proper handling, reporting of repairs, and with quality control tests.

Maintains a professional departmental environment for patients, visitors, and employees.

Assures all clerical procedures are performed for each patient, including processing charges, interpretation of films, report generation, and permanent filing of the medical records.

Assures the proper use of radiation safety, Hospital safety, and universal precautions during the performance of one’s assignments.

Adheres to safety practices, reports accidents/hazards and maintains equipment as outlined in hospital policies.

Qualifications

Mammography experience required.

ARRT registered with advanced qualification in mammography.

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiological Technology.

MIRT required.

ARRT and ARRT(M) certified.

Additional Competencies and Skills Candidates may acquire these skills through on‑the‑job training.
