Description Delano Public Schools is looking for a Speech/Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide coverage for the early childhood program providing special education services to children ages 3-6. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing speech/language therapy services to support student’s communication development and participation in the education environment. The ideal candidate is collaborative, child-centered, and experienced in working with young learners. 13 weeks starting on January 20, 2026 (specific dates are subject to change slightly) Salary:

$261.98/day

Essential Duties

Provide direct and indirect speech and language services to students ages 3–6 in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments and write corresponding evaluation reports.

Participate in the development, review, and revision of IEPs in collaboration with teachers, families, and other team members.

Implement evidence-based therapy interventions to address students’ speech, language, fluency, and communication needs.

Consult with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate communication goals into daily routines and classroom activities.

Maintain accurate records of services, progress notes, and required documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines.

Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress, strategies, and home carryover activities.

Maintain positive and constructive communication with staff.

Collaborate with early childhood and special education teams to support inclusive practices and student success.

Maintain and report accurate student attendance and performance records.

Collaborate effectively with school and district staff as part of a department team and other leadership committees.

Ability to adhere to due process timelines and complete individualized education plan and evaluation paperwork to guide educational programming.

Qualifications Required:

Current Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

Preferred:

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA; Clinical Fellows (CFs) will be considered.

Experience working with preschool and early childhood populations.

Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
