Join our team at Bemidji Area Schools as a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) serving students from diverse backgrounds and needs. As an integral member of our special education team, you will provide essential services to support students' communication skills, ensuring they have the tools necessary to succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct screenings and comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language impairments.
Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, focusing on improving articulation, language comprehension, fluency, and pragmatic skills.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' educational goals and integrate therapy into classroom activities.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program.
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
State licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Experience working with school-aged children in educational settings preferred.
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA.
